Borrowing Facilities:Rayalaseema University Central Library maintains different collection of books (textbooks, reference books, competitive books, textbook collections, etc.) on various subjects in addition to current and back volumes of research journals. Borrowing privileges will vary depending on the status of the Library users. Following are the details regarding the borrowing privileges of different types of library users.
Care of Library Material: Borrowers must verify the physical condition of a book before borrowing it. They shall be held responsible for any damage or mutilation noticed at the time of returning the book. If any book is lost or damaged, the user can replace the same copy of the same/ latest edition or pay double the price of book along with the fine levied by the Library. A lost journal shall be replaced by the user or they shall pay the current cost of the complete volume. The books on loan shall be returned on or before the due date marked on the due date slip. A student shall return all the books they borrowed when their course ends and shall take No Dues Certificate from the Library.
Collection Arrangement & Display: Textbooks are kept (stack area) in a separate section. The Library follows open access system. The collection is arranged in the shelves from 000.00 to 999.99 as per Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme from top to bottom towards right. To assist the user in locating the needed books, self guides are provided in the library.
Newspapers and subject journals are kept in a separate section. Current journals are displayed on racks in the periodical section. All loose issues of journals are sent for binding.Web Browsing Centre, Competitive Examinations Books Section, and Textbook Collection are kept in a separate section.
Web Browsing Centre:Web Browsing Centre has 13 systems. Internet facility is available for members of the University Central Library. The users are advised to avail themselves of this facility to strengthen their academic and research activities. The users should not misuse the Internet facility. They should always carry their ID Cards. They should keep their Internet ID/Password confidential and logout of their Internet account after using the Net in the library. As only a few systems are available in the Central Library, the users should use the system for one hour only. After one hour, the user should leave the system voluntarily by giving a chance to other user to use the Net.
Competitive Examinations Cell:The University Central Library maintains the Competitive Examinations Cell with the main objective of providing reading material for the students preparing for various competitive examinations. The Cell provides books and magazines relating to Central and State Public Service Commission Examinations,, Bank Examinations, DSC, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, GATE, CAT, UGC-NET/SLET, etc. The Cell has about 1000 documents relating to the various competitive examinations.
Textbook Collection:Some important textbooks are for use in the section. Readers are allowed only one note book inside the section.
Membership in other Networks:The University Central Library will get Online Journals Access under UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium .GENERAL LIBRARY RULES:
